May 12, 2025 - Through setting new campus records, being invited to both football and basketball local All-Star games, and accepting a full ride athletic scholarship, Canyon Lake High School senior Carter Williams brings Hawk Pride to his peers, campus, and athletic program by dominating the field and court.
The All-Star games bring together the best athletes from across the region to play in a final game for football, basketball, and baseball. The San Antonio Sports All-Star games include football and basketball. For baseball, Williams has been invited to the local Missions Senior Celebration All Star Game, and is awaiting an invitation for the All Star State Game hosted by the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association.
“It would feel really rewarding to be invited to all three major All-Star games,” explains Williams. “Although I was unable to attend the All-Star basketball game, the All-Star football game was a really cool experience. I had never been a part of a game like that, so meeting new players, coaches, and playing at the Alamodome was awesome.”
Williams has been playing football, basketball, and baseball since elementary school, following in his father and brother’s footsteps, who were also three sport athletes growing up.
“My dad has had a huge influence over my athletic career,” says Williams. “He has always been there for me through ups and downs, and when I am down, he is there to help me get back up.”
With the support and encouragement of his family, Williams has become a powerhouse for Canyon Lake Athletics.
Just this year alone in basketball, Williams has set the school record for most rebounds in a game with 22 rebounds and the most career rebounds with 734. In football, he was the District Offensive MVP with 17 touchdowns, 1,100 yards, and 42 receptions, and in this year's baseball season he has so far tied the campus records for home runs with 12 and the batting average in a season with .460.
Despite Williams’ success in all three sports, it was collegiate baseball that won his heart. “Up to my senior year I was deciding between pursuing football or baseball, but it ultimately came down to feeling like I was better fit in baseball,” explains the senior. “I knew I could play baseball at the next level and I genuinely just love the sport.”
Outside of athletics, Williams has been involved in the business Career and Technical Education cluster during his underclassman years and is currently enrolled in the PALS (Peer Assistance and Leadership) program, which is designed to provide mentorship and support to K-12 students.
Williams will be continuing his education at Texas Tech University this fall, where he received a full ride scholarship for baseball. The athlete intends to pursue a business degree and looks forward to enjoying college campus life.
The hard work and dedication Williams has shown during his four years in CLHS athletics will live on forever as a legacy of pride and greatness.
Thank you Carter Williams for always giving 100% on your Path to Success!
